A philosophy for life

In my personal life, Montessori´s philosophy has changed a lot the way I see the world, the way I treat others, the respect I feel for each and every species, the way I see my students and the way I now try to educate my children. As someone that was raised in the traditional way, this has represented a big challenge to me. During this process, I have struggled with so many habits I used to have. Fortunately, the knowledge and experience I have gathered throughout the years have helped me eradicate such old habits.

This does not mean that my parents, teachers, and other mentors were wrong because they followed a traditional educational method. Instead, today I recognize that they did only what they thought it was the best for me. I will always be thankful for helping me be the person I am now. Yet, thanks to the  Montessori´s philosophy I have become a better version of myself. Moreover, I have now the opportunity of transmitting all that knowledge to the ones I love the most: my family and students.

Having all this knowledge about education, pedagogy and Montessori principles, makes me certain that there are other ways to educate, in more humane and natural ways. If these methods are properly performed, they lead to great results.

It’s wonderful to know that there is nothing most important than giving a kid self-confidence, caring about emotional stability, being a guide that might encourage him to discover his natural abilities, and providing him with a proper environment full of love and faith. Yes! Faith in our children, being sure that someday and somehow by nature, they will materialize the essence they were born with. I see this happening so often, I experience it day by day. When I see that neuroscience considers the Montessori Method as the best option, my faith on it grows stronger. Moreover, when I see Montessori kids who have become important characters in our society,  people whose achievements had marked us such as Mark Zuckerberg programmer, philanthropist and creator of Facebook, Gabriel Garcia Marquez writer, novelist, story teller and scriptwriter, Cher, singer, actress and composer, Larry Page, entrepreneur and creator of Google, Jeff Bezos, creator of Amazon, George Clooney, actor, producer, and scriptwriter, Beyonce, singer, dancer, actress, composer and record manager, or Joshua Bell violinist, and so many others that I could not finish listing. Those people have a great life and social abilities, they are strong, critical minded, independent, and creative, and more importantly, full of  self-love and confidence that made them reach all their goals.

Whoever is reading this text right now, whose path has led to the Montessori´s philosophy should never doubt that Montessori is the best that could happen to them just like it happened to me.
